Journey of HSDS

 From a University Classroom, we, the students of Rural Awareness and Self-Employment, Department of Sociology, University of Kalyani, initially learn to aspire for a better world. Prof. Debjani Sengupta, through her insightful knowledge, provided us with the motivation to include everyone in a society focused on well-being. This philosophical perspective inherently inspired us to engage in positive actions centered around the principle of live and let live. Along this journey, we aimed to develop ourselves as true social science researchers, entrepreneurs, and ultimately, as contributors to society. In 2009, we successfully established the Haringhata Saphalya Development Society (HSDS) in the remote village of Mollabelia, Haringhata. Following this, our journey was marked by our determination to navigate various challenges. Our primary activities to initiate this journey included Child Line initiatives, gender sensitization, youth empowerment, and the development of indigenous communities. With the slogan "Reach to out-reach" through education, we prioritized the realization of our dreams. We firmly believe that understanding people from their perspectives is essential for every social contributor. In line with this belief, we conducted  comprehensive sample survey to grasp the reality of the situation. To further this objective, we also established a dedicated academic research wing, "Lokdarshan," aimed at gaining a deeper understanding of the future world.
